I love dating my husband! Whether we’re heading to something casual or fancy, our time together is precious. Although, I will admit that I do enjoy getting all gussied up and heading out for a romantic evening together. It’s fun to find the right dress and accessorize for something special. For instance, I recently partnered with Jord (known for their wood watches) and have a beautiful wood watch from them. I love wearing it on date nights! Within the last month, I received a beautiful vegan leather wallet, as well, and I’m so excited! It goes perfectly with the dress I’ll be wearing this weekend!!

Accessorizing with Jord
So, yes – love is in the air and I am IN LOVE with this new Suberhide wallet from Jord!! What is Superhide? Give me a minute and I’ll share the inside scoop. Before I go into that, I want to thank Jord, because, as a partner, I love the fact that I get to experience firsthand the quality and thought that goes into their products. I’ll be honest, this one makes my heart beat just a little faster.
T, it’s a wallet ~ that’s crazy talk!
I know!! It’s just that, with the boys growing up, I’m finding myself more and more into accessorizing and finding the perfect compliments to what I’m wearing on date night and beyond. This vegan leather lined piece just adds a little extra extra to sooooo many of my outfits!
Let’s Talk About Jord
Established in 2013, Jord (pronounced Yode) is a small, family-owned company in St. Louis, Missouri. The brand’s name comes from Norway and means “Of the Earth,” which I think that’s pretty applicable considering the company prides itself on using natural, sustainable materials.
Jord was started by four partners with a mission to both create quality designs and foster lasting relationships by providing excellent friendly service. They have grown the company from creating wood and stone watches to now branching off into eyewear, hats, Apple bands and an array of vegan leather handbags.
Now Let’s Talk About Their Products
What started off with creating wood timepieces is turning into a growing business. Their reach now spans over 140 countries and the company has been recognized by Forbes as producing one of the Best Apple Watch Bands in 2019.
Through its research, Jord has created various methods of fortifying different kinds of wood in order to make them usable in Jord designs. These processes also create a product that is both 50x stronger and 3x more water-resistant.
As noted, they design wood watches and now cork-leather wallets and handbags. How can they do this and still maintain that they are environmentally conscious? I mean, cork comes from a tree and using a tree’s bark usually puts the tree in danger. Right?
Well, Jord found a tree that produces a bark that can be harvested for their products without harming it. Curiosity piqued? Let me explain.
Talk To Me About Cork
The cork tree (Qurecus Suber) is one of only three trees in the world that can survive after having its bark removed. Now, it can only be harvested every nine years, but it’s good to know that using it won’t take away from the environment. In fact, as the bark regrows, it pulls a tremendous amount of carbon dioxide from the air.
The process that occurs once the cork is harvested takes over six months as the bark has to rest and dry before it can be naturally sterilized (chemical-free) and the best part of the bark extracted. From here, the wood is shaped, safely dyed and fused to fabric to make some of the products you’ll find on their site.
Finally, Let’s Introduce The Suberhide Wallet (and My Thoughts)
The Suberhide Eila Wallet comes in four colors: Shadow Black and Silver, Peacoat Blue and Gold, Natural and Gold, and a Eros Red and Silver ~ all equally beautiful. I chose the Shadow Black and Silver because it matches a majority of my wardrobe!!
I love the fact that the material used to create these pieces is resistant to scratches and tearing, hypoallergenic and water resistant! Not to mention, it’s flame retardant, which is good if you plan on dining by candlelight or in front of a fireplace. Right?
Other amazing features of the Suberhide wallet include the fact that its anti-static and highly-elastic. Even after compression or creasing, it will still maintain its shape.
Whoa! That’s pretty epic ~ not gonna lie!
Inside, it has eight inner card slots, a premium zipper (I hate a cheap zipper – honestly, I do!), and enough space to pack my iPhone in there, too!
Oh, and did I mention that it’s resistant to staining and easily cleaned with mild soap & warm water??? I mean, you can’t go wrong there!
