Okay, so I am taking a quick detour from my “Best of the Best” series to share a portion of a recent trip I took with my mother to Walt Disney World . Bear with me ~ this one is going to be “delicious. ” As an aspiring Disney Foodie, I have had two major bucket list goals (as my mother likes to refers to them): to attend the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival AND to attend the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I was finally able to cross one of these off my list as we recently traveled to Walt Disney World to explore Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. During a recent mother / middle son trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, my son wanted to make one of my Disney wishes comes true. He wanted to help me cross something off my bucket list that has just never been an acceptable option when we go as a family (four guys and little ol’ me~ that’s a little too much testosterone for this meal!). Since it was just the two of us this time around, my son wanted to give me my royal breakfast, an opportunity to eat in Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. This trip was our birthday trip and he was going to be eating at his favorite restaurant one day during our adventure, so he wanted to make sure that I had something that was my own, as well, so I was granted the wish of making reservations for the Fairytale breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table! I have “done Disney” solo. I have “done Disney” with the family. I have “done Disney” with my hubby and even celebrated birthdays and an anniversary there. What I have yet to accomplish on my Disney bucket list is an individual trip with each of my three Disney-loving princes. This had just been a dream until last year when I was able to experience Walt Disney World with one of our three boys That trip hooked me and I could not wait to start planning trips with the other two. There is no better way to cap off a birthday weekend than a jaunt out to the movie theater! Okay – maybe there is, but this is how it worked for me this year. Earlier this month, Walt Disney Production’s latest film hit the big screen and it was high on the “must-see” list for our family. Being a huge Disney fanatic, I was rather eager to see how this one played out, so I took the teen, the tween and the ten year old out for a special movie date with mom. Fasten your seat-belts! We are about to take a Magic Carpet ride to Agrabah – I mean, Broadway!
One of my favorite types of dates with my husband is one that involves a trip into New York City to see a spectacular show. There are so many on my proverbial bucket list to see, but Disney’s Aladdin: The Hit Broadway Musical has been at the top of the list for what seems like forever. So, imagine the surprise when I opened my last gift at Christmas to find an ornament of the world-renowned Genie. This was my husband’s creative way of saying, “You’re going to see Aladdin!!” Continue reading Date with Broadway: A Review of Aladdin: The Hit Broadway Musical
