After ten or eleven moves within a 20 year span, you would think we would be exhausted and just want to stay put, right?  Nope – not this crew!  Maybe it was all the moving with the military that did it, but we totally crave adventure and exploration!  Even our oldest, who is just about to enter his senior year of high school,  has been eager to begin writing a new chapter.   So, when the opportunity arose for a transfer within the company for which my hubby works now, we saw it as a  welcomed answer to prayer…but the question was whether it was really a part of God’s life plan for us. Our food allergy story: The bite that sealed the deal

There is an increasing number of individuals and families in the world who are learning to cope with the struggles of food allergies.   This entity is not partial to race, religion, socioeconomic status or gender.  It has no determined age of onset, it has no known definitive genetic trigger or cure.  It is simply something we, as families, are just trying to survive on a daily basis….and, along with scientists, physicians and many other advocates, are working hard to understand and rectify. Finally – The Episode VII Review: For What Its Worth…

Okay – I know you’re asking, “Why did you wait so long?”   Well, life with food allergies sometimes means that we as a family need to settle for delayed gratification.   Such just happens to be the case when it comes to watching a movie in the actual movie theater.   With all the Star Wars: Episode VII hype, we knew that attempting to see it in its full glory would be too dangerous for someone who has airborne and contact characteristics to his medical condition.   So – yes, it took us a month of avoiding as many spoilers and naysayers as we could, but we finally made it to see Star Wars: Episode VI – The Force Wakens! Walt Disney World Vacations – Let’s Agree To Disagree

I get it.  Not everyone  is going to like Walt Disney World (WDW) and many will go to great lengths to complain incessantly about the changes being made over time in order to justify their dislike.   The new FastPass+ system is inconvenient.  The cost is too much.  It’s too crowded.   The Cast Members are rude and don’t care.   At some point or another, sure, those are all going to be true.   The company is run by humans, is it not?   However, since our very first family vacation to Walt Disney World in 2007, I have been smitten with this vacation destination and I honestly cannot find another place on earth I would rather make special memories with my family – and we have been coast to coast as a former military family.  I have grown to appreciate the streamlined FastPass+ system (and other changes), understand that it costs to run such an enormous resort and have made some amazing friends in some of the Cast Members . In all honesty, I have found it is all about the mindset you create when you go on vacation to WDW.   Do you want to have a good time?  Are you expecting others to provide that for you or are you ready to create that yourself?
