For dinner tonight, let’s time warp back to the 1950’s, where black & white televisions were one of the hottest commodities, milkshakes were the best drink every made and mom’s home cooking was what every diner in town was trying to replicate. If the idea of talking sock hops, watching I Love Lucy re-runs, and hearing Mom telling you to keep your elbows off the table peaks your interest, then 50’s Prime Time Café is one restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios you do NOT want to miss experiencing! Okay, so I am taking a quick detour from my “Best of the Best” series to share a portion of a recent trip I took with my mother to Walt Disney World . Bear with me ~ this one is going to be “delicious. ” As an aspiring Disney Foodie, I have had two major bucket list goals (as my mother likes to refers to them): to attend the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival AND to attend the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I was finally able to cross one of these off my list as we recently traveled to Walt Disney World to explore Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. When I finally sat down to document my recent experience in New York City, I realized that there were so many different angles from which I could have come in writing this piece. The trip to New York City itself was quite an adventure and the people I met while there were absolutely amazing and inspiring. I knew I obviously wanted to write about this fantabulous (yes, that’s a word!) new storybook app that was promoted at the social media event I attended…..but then there was just the simple fact that I met the Godfather of Shock Rock and Rock ‘n Roll Hall of fame inductee, Alice Cooper! See my dilemma? There was an abundance of “spectacular” that happened, making the narrowing of my blog topic quite difficult. There is no better way to cap off a birthday weekend than a jaunt out to the movie theater! Okay – maybe there is, but this is how it worked for me this year. Earlier this month, Walt Disney Production’s latest film hit the big screen and it was high on the “must-see” list for our family. Being a huge Disney fanatic, I was rather eager to see how this one played out, so I took the teen, the tween and the ten year old out for a special movie date with mom. Fasten your seat-belts! We are about to take a Magic Carpet ride to Agrabah – I mean, Broadway!
One of my favorite types of dates with my husband is one that involves a trip into New York City to see a spectacular show. There are so many on my proverbial bucket list to see, but Disney’s Aladdin: The Hit Broadway Musical has been at the top of the list for what seems like forever. So, imagine the surprise when I opened my last gift at Christmas to find an ornament of the world-renowned Genie. This was my husband’s creative way of saying, “You’re going to see Aladdin!!” Continue reading Date with Broadway: A Review of Aladdin: The Hit Broadway Musical
